For Teams · Distributed company retreats
Planned by a credentialed travel advisor — not an algorithm and not a marketing team. Luxury hotel partner programmes, real itineraries, real perks. Free intake call.
If your team works remotely and meets in-person once or twice a year, the retreat has to deliver. The bar for "we rented an Airbnb and called it bonding" is gone. Here's what serious retreat planning looks like.
Building a real culture without an HQ. Your retreat is the moment culture compounds — or doesn't.
You'd rather not lose two weeks comparing 17 retreat platforms and 40 venue options. I've already done it.
The last one was fine but felt expensive for what you got. There are partner programmes that change that math.
Founder of Trip Happens and a Fora Travel advisor specialising in retreats for distributed teams. I plan real client trips alongside writing about travel — which means the recommendations come from real bookings, not press kits.
No mystery. No upsell. Here's exactly what working together on your team's offsite looks like.
30 minutes by Zoom. Team size, dates, dealbreakers, budget, what last year's retreat got right (or didn't).
Within a week: 2–3 venue options, suggested itinerary, partner-programme perks at each property, transparent costs.
I handle the bookings, confirm the perks, and put together a pre-trip packet for every team member.
Real human reachable mid-trip. Delay, swap, restaurant emergency — I'm on it. No chatbot.
Through Fora and direct partnerships, I have access to venues across these networks — including ones that aren't bookable through public retreat platforms.
I'm publishing one real-client retreat case study every month — with permission and anonymised where needed. If you'd like to be considered as a feature (with full editorial control over what's shared), mention it on your intake call.
Hybrid retreat venue near Lisbon · partner-programme upgrades on 6 founder/leadership rooms · two structured workshop days + one rest day · pre-arranged Algarve coastal dinner · transparent budget breakdown delivered before booking.
For most retreats, my planning fee is paid by the venue or platform — through partner-programme commissions Fora arranges. You pay the same rate you'd pay direct, but with added perks (room upgrades, breakfast, hotel credit) that aren't bookable any other way. For complex or fully-custom itineraries, a small planning fee may apply, quoted upfront before any work begins.
10–100 people. Smaller than that and the partner-programme math doesn't unlock as much value. Larger than that and the planning typically involves a corporate-events firm, which is a different category.
Often yes. If you already have a Surf Office or Off Site quote, send it over — I can frequently match it with partner-programme perks added on top through Fora. Same trip, better stay.
For international business and first-class through partner-programme rates, yes. For domestic and standard economy, you'll usually get the best deal direct with airlines — I'll point you to the right tools.
Always recommended for international team travel. I can suggest providers I've personally used and walk through what to look for in group coverage.
Text or email. That's the entire reason to work with an advisor instead of a platform. Trip Happens — but I'm in your team's corner when it does.
If you operate a retreat platform, venue network, or distributed-team service and want to discuss content partnerships or co-marketing: email me directly.
Book a free 30-minute intake call. No commitment, no pressure. We'll talk through what you're thinking and whether I'm the right fit for your team.
